Take a run down memory lane with a Wizard of Oz theme 5k run!

This one of a kind event made for your enjoyment with friends and family. Not only will you be celebrating good health, you'll be giving back to the community. The proceeds from this event will benefit low income single mothers attending local colleges. The poverty rate for single-mother families in 2016 was 35.6%! This is why education for these women is so important!

As a bonus, with every sign up you get one raffle ticket for a chance to see Conan O’Brien live in Los Angeles!

Every participant will receive a goodie bag, finisher medal and breakfast.

1st Place Prize (Male & Female Winners) - A ticket to COMIC-CON!

Male and female winners of 5K will each receive a ticket to Comic-Con July 23-26th 2020, in San Diego CA.

Route Description:
The 5k will begin at the center of Akash winery - We’ll start by running down the compacted gravel road that leads to the street entrance. Just before the street you’ll make a LEFT turn into a dirt stretch of the track - this leads to the “southern vine rows” section of the race, continuing through the vines on soft-tilled soil. Head into the vines 4 rows down and continue the race by weaving through these rows until you reach the gravel road on the South side of the property.

Follow the gravel road to the main street (Calle Contento), but just before turn RIGHT on the dirt path to run north (the road will be on your left). Pass over the initial gravel road you took, and into the “northern vine rows” section of the race. Turn RIGHT to enter the northern rows and just like the southern section, weave back and forth until you are at the northwestern corner of the property. This section has soft, uneven soil.

Follow the northern property line eastward on a slight incline - at the fork in the path head to the RIGHT, towards the back of the main winery building on a trail of compacted dirt. Run along the backside of the winery, passing the 5k vendors, and now at the southern property line take a LEFT to continue eastward on an elevated climb until you reach the southeast corner of the winery. Turn LEFT to head north along the east property line, and keep going until reaching the auxiliary parking lot.

Continue the race by running north through the auxiliary parking lot, staying along the left side (the parking lot will be on your right). At the end of the lot your see a semi-hidden pathway to continue along to the LEFT. This is the highest altitude point of the run, and the part with the best views! After taking in the beautiful SoCal sights, take a LEFT at the first fork in the road, and then another LEFT at the next intersection. You’ll be heading east now, back towards the auxiliary parking lot.

Take a RIGHT to head back down the eastern property line - at this point you’ll be retracing your steps all the way back to the starting line to finish the Bright Mothers 5K!
